Obituary of Samuel A Schwarzman

Samuel A. Schwarzman 88 of Vorhees passed away on Sunday May 29, 2011 in Kennedy University Hospital Stratford. Born in Philadelphia Pa. to the late Isadore and Sadie (Levin) Schwarzman. Samuel moved to Vineland at the age of 10. A graduate of Vineland High School, he attended Rutgers College on a full scholorship and graduated with honors. Samuel worked for many years in the family business, Schwarzman's Dept. Store on Landis Ave. After he left the family business, he became a successful builder and developer. At the age of 2, Samuel was stricken with polio, however, he spent his life coping with his affliction with grace, never complaining and with great success. He enjoyed sailing on Union Lake, going camping and was an avid outdoorsman. Samuel was a dedicated and active member of the Jewish Community. His greatest pride, joy and love was his family. He is survived by his wife Muriel (Carmin) Schwarzman, his sons Gary and Donald Schwarzman, Richard and Andrew Caplan, his daughters Gillian Shaw and Nancy Reichman, his brother William Schwarzman and 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister Annette "Nan" Greenblatt. Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday May 31, 2011 at 2 PM in the Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland with Rabbi Dr. Murray J. Kohn officiating. Friends and family will be received 1/2 hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Alliance Cemetery in Norma, NJ. Donations in Samuel's memory may be made to the Beth Israel Congregation, 1015 East Park Ave., Vineland, NJ 08360 or to the charity of one's choice.
