Obituary of John Santaniello

John "Johnny" F. Santaniello passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at the South Jersey Regional Medical Center. He was born in Woodbury on June 28, 1954 to the late Hilda (Wilhumn) and Frank Santaniello. Johnny worked as a farmer his entire life, including working for his father at Santaniello's Dairy on Oak Road. He started working on his own farm when his father passed away, and was one of the first farmers in this area to farm exclusively organic produce along with his sister, Rose Santaniello-Cross. He sold produce at their roadside stand and by his charm and bigger than life personality his customers turned into permanent friends. Along with being a farmer, he was also a poet. He recited his poetry at Stockton University where he attended three years majoring in Methods, and wowed the crowd with his originality and style. He married his wife Carlota in 1985 and raised his son Dennis. He continued to farm throughout his medical illness and made the world a better place by his smile, hard work and his unique philosophy of life. He loved all and will be missed by all. Johhny is survived by his wife Carlota Santaniello, son Dennis F. Santaniello, sister Theresa and her husband Kevin Seelman of Richland; nieces Sharon and Devin Seelman, Tracy Cross and her boyfriend Matt; nephew James Cross, Jr. and brother-in-law James Cross of Ventnor. A funeral home visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm at Rone Funeral Service with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 pm Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
