Dear Diane, Jimmy, Pam and families, I was so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. I have many memories of time spent with the family in the old neighborhood. Any time I would see Jim then, and in the future, he was never without a warm hello and great big smile. May your memories give you peace and comfort during this difficult time. Diane: I was saddened to read today (5/18) of Jimmy’s passing via the club email. My earliest memory of Jimmy was shortly after joining the club in 1995. I was paired with Jimmy and his guest – his brother (who, as I recall was a long driver of the ball). I learned through casual conversation that he had a casino connection in A/C. I had a great time playing with both of them, as I did with playing with, and as an occasional teammate of Jimmy over the years. Who could forget the fun years of dining as a group and thereafter playing gin rummy afterwards with the regulars competing for that five dollar payoff. Jimmy was always a worthy opponent who usually bested me, but I could have cared less losing to him. The fun was playing with (or against) him. I know firsthand what you have probably gone through, and what the coming months will be like. I also know that you have a strong support group to provide comfort and consolation. If I can be of any assistance, do not hesitate to call upon me. You may not be aware, but I have resigned from the club – totally. I thought I’d drop down to social membership, but given my thinking that I’d be doing some traveling, meaning that I’d probably not be spending as much time in FL as when Bev was with me, the social price of admission to dine at the club a dozen or so times a season, just didn’t seem worth the cost. Anyway, please accept my sincere condolences on Jimmy’s passing – he will be missed. When you have the time and feel like talking, feel free to give me a call, I’d love hearing from you. In the meantime, stay well – stay safe. Armin
