Obituary of Nikolaos Ekimoglou

Nikolaos "Niko" M. Ekimoglou, 74, of Clayton, NJ, passed away on April 4, 2022, surrounded by his loving family after a brief & courageous battle with cancer. Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, to the late Mihalis & Maria Ekimoglou, Niko immigrated to the United States in 1970. The embodiment of the American Dream, Niko worked hard to create a life for himself & his family, eventually owning & operating successful restaurants across South Jersey. He never forgot his homeland & instilled Hellenic (and PAOK FC) pride in all of his children & grandchildren. Above all, Niko loved spending time around the table sharing food & stories with his family, most especially with his loving wife of 38 years, Susan (nee Sikking) Ekimoglou, and their four children. He was the proud father of Jack Ekimoglou (Ryann), Maria Crennan (Dennis), Anastasia Ekimoglou, and Michael Ekimoglou (Helen); dedicated Pappou to Zoe, Zachary, John, Olivia, Nikoleta, Natalia, William, and Winnie; beloved brother of Iordanis Ekimogloy (Candy), Fevronia Mastalou, Katina Kaliamouris (Larry), Kathleen Ekimoglou; brother-in-law of Sharon McMullen (Patrick) and John Sikking (Karina); son-in-law of Mary McCall; and devoted uncle to many nieces and nephews. A staunch man of faith, Niko praised God through all of life's joys & tribulations. His family now rejoices that he is with our Lord & reunited with his parents, brother, Vasili Ekimoglou, sister, Eleni Ekimoglou, brother-in-law, Mihalis Mastalos, and father-in-law, Jack Sikking. A funeral home visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, April 6, 2022, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ. A church visitation will be held on Thursday morning (April 7) from 10 am to 11 am followed by a funeral liturgy beginning at 11:00 am at the Greek Orthodox Church of St Anthony, 430 W Wheat Road, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
