Obituary of Rita B Bertino

Rita B. (Dallago) Bertino, of Vineland passed away on March 30, 2022, at the NJ Veterans Memorial Home after a brief illness. She was born in Vineland to the late Angelo and Anna (Gasperetti) Dallago where she remained a lifelong resident. Rita attended Sacred Heart High School. She served as a Eucharistic Minister of Sacred Heart Church, was a member of Parish Council, and held consecutive terms as the Cookbook chairperson. Many people remember Rita as an active Brownie Scout Leader. She was a volunteer of the Cumberland County Unit of the American Cancer Society since 1958, served as City Chairman and Fashion Show Chairperson for 18 years. In 1998, Rita received the Spirit of Achievement Award for her charitable endeavors which was presented to her by the Italian American Cultural Heritage Society. Rita was a calligrapher and operated her own business called Rita's Writings. She was known for addressing invitations for special occasions throughout Vineland. Rita enjoyed quilting and was a member and past president of the Garden Patch Quilters Guild. She enjoyed cooking but most of all being a mother and grandmother her family. Rita is preceded by her husband of sixty years John Baptist Bertino. She is survived by her daughter and her husband Anne (Bertino) and Bernard Lapinsky of Voorhees; and son William Bertino of Taipei City; two grandchildren Emily Rose Lapinsky of Pittsburgh and Brian Bertino of California. She is also survived by her sister Rose (Dallago) and brother-in-law John Bianchi; and her sister-in-law Connie Giuliani along with many nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded by her bother Albert and sister-in-law Barbara Dallago; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ernest and Rita Bertino and brother-in-law Joseph Giuliani. A church visitation will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022 from 10am to 12pm followed by a funeral mass at 12pm from Christ The Good Shepherd Parish - Church Of Sacred Heart, 1010 East Landis Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. At the families request mask are required.
