Obituary of Fred Schiavone Sr

Fred Michael Schiavone, Sr. 76, of Franklinville, passed away on December 14th at Inspira Health in Mullica Hill. Born on October 21, 1944, Fred grew up in Malaga and graduated from Delsea Regional High School in 1963. Following graduation Fred worked for Colucci Lumber and DeFeo builders. On October 22, 1966 Fred married the love of his life. They lived in Pittsgrove where they started their own construction company, Fred M. Schiavone Construction in 1974. In 1983, Fred and Roberta returned to Franklinville and built the home of their dreams. Fred was a man of very few words, but once you got him talking he loved to tell stories about growing up, his beautiful wife and his family. He took great pride in his family, like none other and was proud of his children and grandchildren. From stories of hunting with his friends, working side by side with his father-in-law, spending time with his brothers, ski trips with family and friends and days at the beach. Fred loved working side by side with his wife and sons. He also enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Fred was a member of Carpenters Local 121 and former president of the Delsea Regional High School Board of Education. He was involved in his community and an active member of the Franklin Township Zoning Board. Fred is survived by his wife of 54 years Roberta (Fowler); his sons Fred (Sharon) and John (Andrea) and grandchildren John Jr., Taylor, Lacey, Julianna, Gavin, Libby and Benny; his brother Michael (Helen) and nephew Michael and niece Nicole. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary (Sansalone) and his brother Lawrence. Due to Covid-19 there will be a private religious service. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family is planning a memorial service celebrating Fred`s life in the Summer of 2021. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Fred may be made to Delsea Regional High School Athletic Department as he was a proud Crusader football player.
