Obituary of Walter B. Bakovsky

WALTER B. BAKOVSKY, 94 FORMER VINELAND BUSINESSMAN, VOLUNTEER Walter B. Bakovsky, 94, formerly of Vineland, died March 3 at Bryn Mawr, PA. For the past four years, he had resided in Haverford, PA. Born in Trnovany, Czechoslovakia, he immigrated to the United States in 1947. He rendered many years of service to numerous philanthropic causes. A past president of the Vineland B'nai B'rith Lodge, he was active for many years in the United Jewish Appeal. He served as vice-president of the Chevra Kadisha of Alliance and was a board member of the Vineland YMCA. He founded, owned and operated Walter's Supply Company in Vineland. Prior to that, he had been a manager for Joffe Lumber. Husband of the late Adele M., he is survived by his daughter, Faye Peel of Newtown Square, PA and son, Joseph Bakovsky of Glenside, PA, as well as three grandsons. A funeral home service will be held Thursday March 5 at 2:30 pm at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland. Internment will follow at Beth Abraham Cemetery in Rosenhayn.
