Obituary of Christina Marie D'Ippolito

Christina Marie D'Ippolito April 19, 1957 - June 14, 2008 Christina D'Ippolito, beloved wife of Henry Emerson and cherished eldest child of Ann Giacalone D'Ippolito and Lewis H. D'Ippolito, died on June 14, 2008, surrounded in love by her family. Christina graduated summa cum laude with Departmental Honors, with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts and Art History from Chestnut Hill College, PA. She received a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. Christina was the designer and co-founder of The Courtyard School, Vineland, where she taught art and served on the Board of Trustees. Christina's art studio was filled with her paintings and studies of the nature of light. Along with her pursuit of painting, Christina was also an associate publisher of Outstanding Investor Digest, New York. In addition to her husband and parents, Christina is survived by her family: sister, Lisa and her husband Joseph Sloan of Medford, sister Anita and her husband Scott MacDonald of Vineland, brother Lewis and his wife Rosemarie of Sewell and her nieces and nephews, Christopher and Laura Sloan, Danielle, Douglas and Madeline MacDonald, Lewis and Julia D'Ippolito. Christina was an artist, an ardent lover of her Italian heritage, and a maker and vehicle of all things beautiful. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, music, travel and her family. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her generous and grateful heart and vivacious spirit. Christina died on the feast day of St. Albert Chmielowski, artist and eldest of four children. A Secular Franciscan, he founded of the Brothers of the Third Order of Saint Francis, Servants to the Poor who worked primarily with the homeless, depending completely on alms while serving the needy, regardless of age, religion or politics. Christina's favorite charity was Covenant House International, which provides shelter and other services to homeless, runaway and throwaway youth.
