Obituary of Max Brunner

Max (Maximillion) Brunner, 83, of Millville, N.J., passed away on Friday April 22, 2011 at the South Jersey Regional Medical Center surrounded by family. Max was born in Vienna, Austria, on December 20th, 1927 to Ignaz and Caroline Brunner. He was a child Holocaust survivor, who immigrated to Switzerland, then France and to the United States. Max worked most of his life in the garment industry. He owned and operated a fabric store in Bellmawr, NJ. In his retirement he enjoyed selling goods at the Vineland U-Sell Flea Market. He and his wife traveled extensively visiting many countries. Max was a menber of Beth Israel Congreation of Vineland NJ where he was a member of the Minyon Club. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sheila (Stein) Brunner and his son Maurice Brunner of Millville and his Son Maurice Brunner of Millville and daughter Shara Brunner of Philadelphia, Pa. Additional survivors include Brother Jacques (Leah) Brunner of Millville, brother Joseph (Betty) Brunner of Pittsburgh, Pa. and numerous nieces and nephws, cousins and friends. Shiva will begin with a Memorial Service on Tuesday, April 26th at 8:30pm at the Beth Israel Syuagouge in Vineland where family will receive friends from 8:00 pm until service time. Shiva will continue through Sunday evening at the Brunner Residence. Burial took place Friday in the Alliance Cemetery, in Norma.
