Obituary of Arleen Shurman

Arleen (Shulman) Shurman, 86, passed away Friday, February 29, 2008 at home. Born in Staten Island, New York to the late Jacob and Adele (Albert) Shulman, she was a Vineland resident for over 40 years. Arleen was a graduate of Hunter College in New York with a degree in education. She taught 5th grade at Winslow School and also was a substitute teacher for the Vineland Board of Education. She was a Tutor for many years and was still tutoring up until a few months ago. Arleen ran childrens' programs at the Vineland YMCA. Arleen was a former member of Beth Israe Synagogue. She was a member of the Women's Club of Beth Israel Hadassah and an avid member of Fitness Connection Gym. Arleen enjoyed playing Mahjong with friends for many years and was a beloved life long friend of many women.
