Obituary of Libby Shostak

Elizabeth "Libby" Shostak, 95, of Vineland passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 5, 2011 of natural causes at the SJH Hospice Inpatient Center in Bridgeton. Born in Ellenville, NY she was the fifth of six children, three boys and three girls. Libby move to Suffern, NY in the early 1940's where she lived with her husband Leonard and two sons until 1960. In that year she moved to Vineland. She opened the Vineland Academy of Beauty Culture in June of 1960 which came to be a landmarkk of the city at the corner of East and Landis Avenues. In 1967 she opened the Vineland Beauty Supply which grew to a chain of five stores in the South Jersey area. Libby enjoyed sewing and cooking and most of all talking with people. She always had the time to converse with someone. Her passion, however was in the business world and for the city of Vineland. Libby is survived by her son and his wife Hilton and Susan Shostak of Vineland; son Stewart and wife Phyllis Shostak of Sandy, Ut.; sister Frances Kipnis of Englishtown, NJ.; sister-in-law Lillian Tennenbaum of Ellenville, NY.;grandchildren, Michael and Marcie Shostak of Vineland; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
