Obituary of Peter Savino

Peter "Pop" Savino, 81, of Ocean City and formally of Vineland passed away peacefully on Monday, May 28, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 4, 1930 in North Wildwood, Nj. He was retired from Owen-Illinois and from First Student, where he greatly enjoyed being a bus driver. He enlisted in the US Army and served in the Korean War.The beach played an important role in his life,he met his wife there." Pete" was the unoffical mayor of 51st street beach. He loved watching the girls and helping everyone find their spot on the beach. He had bragging rights of having the darkest tan on the beach and would proudly display his tan lines to anyone who wanted to see and even to those that didn't. He was born on the 4th of July and departed on memorial Day. Pete came into the world with fireworks and left with flags flying. He was predeceased by his parents Michael & Grace and by his brothers, Nicholas, Carl, Joseph, John, Frank & Louis.
