Obituary of Pasquale A. Ruggieri

Pasquale "Pat" Ruggieri, M.D., 97 , of Vineland, retired physician and former chief of medicine and cardiology at Newcomb Hospital passed away on November 29, 2011 at South Jersey Regional Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY., the eldest son of Alexander and Isabella Ruggieri; graduate of Vineland High School, cum laude graduate of Bethany College with a BS degree in chemistry, and a doctorate degree in medicine from Ney York University College of medicine. Dr. Ruggieri maintained a medical practice for 45 years. He was also a clinical instructor in cardiology at hte medical College of pennsylvania ( then Womans Medical College of Pennsylvania). he was a certified specialist in internal medicine, diplomate of the board of internal medicine, fellow of the American Board of Internal medicine and member of the American Medical Association. During the second World War Dr. Ruggieri served as a flight surgeon with the rank of captain in the southwest pacific theater receiving decorations which included: Presidential Unit Citation, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with 4 bronze battle stars and The World War II Victory medal.
