Obituary of James M. Rossi

James Rossi of Vineland New Jersey, at the age of 58, passed away on Saturday the 24th day of April 2010. Diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer in August 2009, Jim was cared for by his family members, and passed in South Jersey Hospice in Bridgeton, NJ with his family by his side. Jim was born in 1951, the son of Michael Rossi, Jr., and Filomena (Iovacchini) Rossi, and he was raised in Vineland along with his brothers Michael and Thomas. Jim graduated from Vineland High School in 1969. Jim was a brilliant entrepreneur with great vision, compassion and integrity. When he had an idea that he believed in, he would find a way to make it work. In 1971, Jim started JMR Printing Company and quickly built a successful printing business. Recognizing his abilities to consult, market and build businesses, Jim worked with many of his printing clients to expand their businesses. Jim sold the printing component and JMR continued as a business development consulting firm. Jim's many accomplishments also included serving as chairman of a publicly traded telecommunications company. He led them through a restructuring enabling their survival at a time when many telecom companies failed. In 2002, his vision extended to providing a computer training school, NJ Career Center, dedicated to helping individuals gain the education they needed to realize their own dreams and aspirations. His leadership has created positive change and opportunity for students and the community as a whole. Jim's commitment to the community was further evident when he accepted the call to take on an integral role in the effort to save Kessler Memorial Hospital as acting CEO. Throughout the years, Jim and his company have developed, advised, assisted and consulted for numerous businesses. Jim's extraordinary leadership and management skills have provided for many businesses and employees throughout his career. Jim met his wife, Alisa (Gagliardi) Rossi in 1983 when she came to work at JMR. They were married in 1989 and have two beautiful children, Steven, 20, and Kaitlynn, 18. Together, Jim and Alisa actively raised their children in a loving home. As a family, they are dedicated members of their church, Living Faith Alliance Church in Vineland. Jim is survived by his beloved wife Alisa and their two children Steven and Kaitlynn. Also surviving are his mother Filomena and two brothers Michael and Thomas, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Michael Rossi, Jr. Services for Jim and burial will be held in private for family members. His body will rest at Siloam Cemetery in Vineland.
