Obituary of Virginia Romano

Virginia Romano 96 of Vineland passed away on Saturday July 23, 2011. Born in Vineland on February 2, 1915, she was adopted by the Pirozzi family and was raised in Pomigliano D'Arco Italy. She returned to United States in 1950 with her husband, Antonio and 3 children. Prior to her retirement, she and her husband owned and operated Romano and Son Groceries and Luncheonette on S. Sixth Street in Vineland. After her retirement, her passion for cooking continued. Virginia was known for the many meals she cooked for family and friends. She was predeceased by her Husband, Antonio: Brothers, Dominick and Frank Dalesandro; Sisters, Margaret Nocco, Antoinette Casadia and Mary Swallich, and two Pirozzi Step-Brothers Virginia is survived by her Son, Dominic J. Romano and his Wife Deanna of Millville; Son, Mark A. Romano of Cedarville; Daughter, Angela Leone and Husband, Michael of San Clemente, CA.; Brother Charles Andrews of San Francisco, CA. 9 Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren; and several Nieces and Nephews in the United States and Italy. A church visitation will be held on Wednesday July 27, 2011 from 9 to 11 AM at St Isidore the Farmer Church 1655 Magonolia Rd. Vineland. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM. Interment Will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
