Obituary of Lena Rocco

Lena Marie (Venturi) Rocco "Nonni Lena" born December 18, 1913, Lena Rocco passed away Tuesday morning at the age of 94. At the time of her death she had been a resident of the Bishop McCarthy nursing home. Lena was predeceased by her husband James V. Rocco. In addition to her being a devoted mother, wife and grandmother, she was also employed by the Crown Clothing Factory for 26 years. Lena was a lifelong resident of Vineland, the daughter of Alfred and uldenga Margaret) Vanni-Venturi. Lena was a first generation Italian-American, whose father came to Vineland from Asciano, Pisa, Italy in 1907. One of five children, she had 4 brothers, Uluglio, Gino (Gene), Julio (Pete) and Joseph who are also deceased. She was a member of St. Isidore's The Farmer Parish. Lena enjoyed traveling to Florida with her late husband and going to the casinos. She was a great cook of Italian food and was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son and daughter -in-law Janes A. and June R. Rocco of Galloway, NJ and her grandson and his wife, James B. and Patricia Rocco of Mays Landing and granddaughter Leann Rocco Mortka of East Vineland, great-grandchildren James Christian Rocco and Meredith Mortka. Her husband, James V. Rocco predeceased her March 30, 1988 and also her two brothers Eugene and Julio Venturi.
