Obituary of Edward Carroll "Bud" Rein

Edward (Bud) C. Rein, 92, of Lansdale, PA, passed away on Sunday, Nov.20, 2011. Born in Phila .PA, he spent his youth and teen years in his beloved Chicago. The family eventually moved back east and settled in Malaga, NJ, where he lived the majority of his life. He fought in France, Germany and Austria during WWII for the Army, where he was a member of the 324th Infantry Regiment and received a purple heart. Edward was a boy scout leader and enjoyed ice skating and tennis. He had the opportunity to be in the ice follies but realized it was a hobby and not a career. He loved playing and teaching tennis which he did well into his 80's. He loved listening to his vast collection of opera recordings and attending his organ club meetings. Bud held several positions in the Civil Service, the local VFW and the Organ Club of Southern New Jersey. He worked as a carpenter at the Almond Road Colony until he retired at 65. Bud Rein was a well-known "character" at the diners and restaurants in the Cumberland & Gloucester County areas. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Caroline Rose and Anthony Dostellio, Lansdale, PA; grandson and his wife, Len & Hillary Ellis; granddaughter and her husband, Amanda & Charlie Chan; and three great granddaughters, Charlotte, Lily and Abby. Bud is predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth (DiPrimio) Rein; and his brother, Joseph Rein.
