Obituary of Louis John Placendo

Louis "Pip" Placendo Sr., 89, of Newfield, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 21st after an extended illness. He was surrounded by his family. Pip, a lifelong resident of Franklin Township, was the son of the late John and Antoinette Placendo. He was a self-employed farmer for his entire life and a member of both the Vineland produce Auction and the Landisville Fruit Growers Association. Pip enjoyed hunting and playing cards. He was one of the original members of the Malaga bearcat Gunning Club and the Joseph P. Moffa Sons of Italy Club in Downstown. He was also a member of the St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church in newfield. Pip cherished spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Gloria (D'Alessandro) of 65 years, son Pip, Jr. at home, daughter Deborah Burrell and her husband Richard, son Rick and his wife Barbara, and five grandchildren. he is predeceased by brothers Dominick, John Jr. and his wife Julia, and Sister Dora Gallucci and her husband Leonard.
