Obituary of Philomena Petrongolo

Philomena Petrongolo, 94, of Vineland passed away on February 19, 2012 at home. She was a truly extraordinary human being. Philomenia joined the Bress Family consisting of Samuel and Evelyn Rubinoff Bress and their son Larry, and soon-to-be-born son Nardi at the age of 17 in 1935. A neighbor referred to her as "Saint Philomena" because of the love, care and devotion she showed Larry, who was afflicted with cerebral palsy from birth. That same love, care and devotion was evident as she cared for Mr. and Mrs. Bress when they grew old and infirm. Philomena passed away with her beloved Cappy at her side. She loved Cappy and Cappy loved her. Nardi, a retired lawyer living in Charlottesville, Va., will sorely miss her and will never forget her.
