Obituary of Edmond F. O'Donnell
Edmond F. O'Donnell passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on April 29, 2010 in his home in Vineland, New Jersey. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a generous grandfather. He was the son of the late Nellie (Regan) and Michael O'Donnell. He is survived by his wife Margaret Mary (McKee); his sister Dolores Riley of Philadelphia' brother Gerald O'Donnell of West Deptford; his four children, Dr. Marie O'Toole (Kevin), Margaret Klinsport (the late David); Dr. Edmond F. O'Donnell, Jr. (Karen); Rev. Ayn Masker (Edwin); as well as a large and loving extended family. He attended Nativity BVM grammar school in Port Richmond, Philadelphia, was in the graduating class of 1943 from Northeast Catholic High School and went on to become a long-time employee of Allstate Insurance. He enjoyed summers at his suburban home affectionately referred to as Shangri La, where his 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews would swim in the pool while he read the paper or listened to Harry Callas and the Phillies on the radio. He went out of his way to help family and friends through good times and bad without ever expecting anything in return. As a depression-era-child, he was an avid saver and collector, amassing an impressive array of caps and Christmas ornaments, among other collectibles. He will be remembered and loved by the many who enjoyed his company and good humor.
