James O'Brien

Obituary of James A. O'Brien

James Aloysius O'Brien, 78,of Minotola, NJ, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008 after an auto accident. Born and raised in Camden, he attended Camden Catholic High School, graduating in 1948. He was predeceased by his wife, Lillian (nee Myers) and his daughter, Kim. His greatest joy will be being reunited with them as well as his father,James W. and his sister, Rosemary (Magera) in heaven. He is the beloved father of Kathleen and her spouse Enrique Agosto of Vineland and treasured grandpop of Enrique Jr., Mark, Nicole and Shawn. He will always be remembered for his dry sense of humor, Irish wit and his devoted care of his wife and his daughter during their extended illnesses. James loved his life's work as a designer draftsman and detailer for RCA, Philco and several other companies, retiring in 1994 to care for his wife. James enjoyed monkeying around with cars and was an expert at troubleshooting just by listening to an engine. James was much edified by his move from Blackwood to Minotola in March of 2000 where he became an active member of Queen of Angels Parish. There he thrived as a Minister of Hospitality, Lector and Eucharistic Minister. James was ever deepening his commitment to Christ and found solace most recently in bringing Holy Communion to the sick. James died with a grateful heart and a sense that he had lived his life with integrity and service to others.
