Arlene Adelman

Obituary of Arlene Claire Adelman

ARLENE C. ADELMAN, 80 Arlene C. Adelman, 80, of Vineland died on Sunday, February 5, 2012. Arlene was born and raised in New York City. She was a full-time homemaker who devoted her energies to being a wife and mother. Arlene was married to the love of her life, Jack (who predeceased her in 2006), for nearly 55 years. She is survived by 2 sons and their wives, Howard and Jackie of Estell Manor, and Larry and Donna of Barnegat. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Rachel and Sammi. Her sister, Ellen Melendez of Long Island also survives her along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Shy by nature, Arlene was the sweetest lady you would ever want to meet. She enjoyed heading to Broadway for theatre, watching films and the glamour of Hollywood, and music. She loved to tell stories about having seen many Frank Sinatra shows as a teen, and about the other concerts that she attended. An admirer of John F. and Jackie Kennedy, she collected memorabilia and dozens of books about their lives. After raising her sons, she was able to enjoy travelling abroad, watching horse racing, and occasionally losing some money at the casinos. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 8th at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Ave., Vineland. Interment will follow at Alliance Cemetery in Norma.
