Obituary of Robert R Mooney

Bob was born in Paterson, NJ and lived in West Paterson, NJ, until he joined the Army in April 1941. He was in the 13th field artillery (Black Cat Batallion) holding the rank of Sergent. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor. When he was discharged he started his own heavy equipment and excavating business, and also a nursery, raising shrubs. He moved the family to Vineland in 1961 and worked on his farm gor years before gioing back into operating, heavy equipment. Bob worked for William L. Gifford and Son, and Rudolg Meckel and son for many years. He raised and sold horses and Quarter horses. He started and ran his own nursery business growning and selling shrubs and evergreens until his retirement. After his wife passed away in 2002, he sold the farm and moved to Malaga across the street from his daughter where he lived the rest of his days, still growing plants. He was well known and liked by all.
