Lucy M. Melini, 96, owner of Melini Bros. Tire & Auto Service, died of pulmonary and renal complications on Tuesday, December 7, 2009.

Mrs. Melini, wife of the late Bruno Melini, led the successful development of one of the largest Goodyear tire dealerships in New Jersey, at the age of 46, following her husband's untimely death at age 50. For the past fifty years, she has managed business with help from her family. She and her late husband with several east coast tire dealers also helped to found the Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. in Finley, Ohio, where she served on the Board of Directors.

Born in Landisville, NJ to Domenic and Vincenza (Porecca) Mastrangelo, who emigrated from Chieti, Abruzzi Region of Italy, she resided there all of her life. Mrs. Melini has been active in community affairs, working as a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and sponsoring a sandlot baseball team, Melini Goodyear, for many years. She has been a member of the Buena Boro Republican Club. She is a member of Queen of Angels Parish in Buena Borough.

She enjoyed reading, including national and local newspapeers each day and doing cross word puzzles. She also enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty Testa, (late, Clarence) and her son Dr. Carlo B. Melini and his wife Joan. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren, Sheryl Menah (Patrick), Judy Testa, Susan Romeo (David), Dr. Jeffrey Melini, Carla Tinari (Christopher, Douglas Melini (Mandy), and Mark Melini (Shannon), Great-grandchildren, Shannon Navinskey (Shawn), Cory Menah, Patrick Menah, Jennifer Testa, Gina Testa, Lisa Testa, Matthew Carchidi, Joseph Carchidi, Marino Romeo, Bruno Romeo, Olivia Tinari and Jackson Tinari; great-great grandson Trevor Navinskey. She had many nieces and nephews. whom she loved.

She is predeceased by her husband, Bruno, brothers Samuel Mastrangelo (Pearl) and Nicholas Mastrangelo (Viola), sisters Pauline Mastrangelo and Angelina Battelini (Anthony).
