Rita L. (Mounier) McDonald,96, of Vineland died Sunday, June 7, 2009. Born in Vineland, she was the daughter of the late Andre J. and Margaret McConnell Mounier and the wife of the late Edward P. McDonald. Rita had been a Vineland resident all her life and spent the lasst few years living at Bishop McCarthy Residence. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was active for many years as a Lay Catechist and Extraordinary Minister, as well as past president of the Alter and rosary Society. She was recipient of the Bishop's Medal in 1987, recieved awards for outstanding service at Sacred Heart and St. Isidore Grammar School in 1991. She was a volunteer for many years at Bishop McCarthy Residence. She was a graduate of Vineland High School Class of "31" and was active in the basketball program. She worked for J.J. Newberry for many years prior to her retirement. She was an animal lover, and avid Phillies fan and enjoyed playing cards and Bingo. Before her age caught with her, she and her friends enjoyed square dancing and entertaining at local nursing homes.
