Obituary of Dolores T. Lopergolo

Dolores T. Lopergolo Former Vineland City Clerk Dolores Theresa Lopergolo died Friday after a battle with cancer. She was 77. Devoted daughter, sister, aunt and cousin, Dolores was born in Philadelphia where she attended schools including Hallahan High School. She graduated from Vineland’s Sacred Heart High School in 1949. Later, she attended Pierce Junior College in Philadelphia and also completed the coursework necessary at Rutgers University to become a licensed municipal clerk in New Jersey. She began working as Vineland City Hall in 1952 in the City Clerk’s office and 23 years later served at City Clerk from 1975 until her retirement in 1994. She was an active member of the Municipal Clerks Association of New Jersey. Dolores had an undying devotion to her namesake, Saint Theresa, and also to her family. She loved cooking, Ocean City, trips to the casino, music and animals, especially her beloved pet, Soufflé. Also an avid sports fan, Dolores was the first coach of Our Lady of Mercy Academy’s basketball team. Her parents Michael Lopergolo, Sr., and Carmella "Millie" (Dauito) Lopergolo and her brother Frank Lopergolo, Sr, predeceased her. Dolores is survived by her sisters Marie "Nina" Martini and Loretta Pannullo, her brother Michael Lopergolo, Jr, his wife Donna (Errickson) and sister-in-law Rose (Blew) Lopergolo, all of Vineland. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Cindy Lopergolo Brooks, Michael Francis Lopergolo, Terry Lopergolo Carpenter, Ralph Pannullo, Michael Lopergolo, III, Mark Pannullo, Lisa Lopergolo Tramontana, Anita Lopergolo Bertonazzi, Lori Pannullo, Frank Lopergolo, Jr., Linda Pannullo, Brian Lopergolo, Darin Pannullo, Greg Lopergolo and many great and great, great nieces and nephews.
