-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: pooba43@comcast.net To: ronefuneralhome@aol.com Sent: 9/20/2009 2:15:35 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time Subj: Belfi Obit Lewis William (Bill) Belfi, 77 Masonry Contractor and Devoted Family Man Surrounded by his loving family, Bill Belfi passed away peacefully on Saturday September 19, 2009 after an extended illness. He endured many health-related battles in the last decade of his life but preferred that he be remembered as a builder of homes and a lover of friends and family. Growing up on Vine Road, he worked the family farm and along with his twin brother Tommy, expanded the masonry business begun by John Belfi, their father. Bill and Tommy worked, side-by-side, for more than fifty years and developed a reputation for quality craftsmanship as well as on-the-job humor. Bill often said ,“Tommy and I worked fifty years together and never had an argument”. Bill enjoyed sports of all types and was an avid fan of the local teams. He was a graduate of Vineland High School Class of 1951 where he played football. He was a Member of Never Rest Gunning Club and a retired member of the NJ Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. What Bill loved most, however, were the family gatherings at the shore or at home on Brewster Road. He had many “special” recipes and after a day of fishing or crabbing, he would create a meal for the entire family to enjoy. Bill’s children and grandchildren were an enormous source of pride and the joy of his life. He was born in Vineland to the late John and Edith (Franchesci) Belfi where he remained a lifelong resident. Survived by: loving wife June (Cheli) Belfi of 56 years, daughters and their husbands, Debbie and Pio Vai, Donna and Richard Moratelli, son and his wife, Bill and Robin Belfi. Grandchildren, Kristin and husband Jimmy Coia, Kevin and wife Maria Vai, Katelyn and Jessica Moratelli, Brandon and Sarah Schwartz and Gianna and Giovanni Belfi, one great granddaughter, Lea Coia.
