Edith Lera Obituary
Edith (Palmieri) Lera, 84, passed away on September 9, 2008 at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home. Born in Dalzell, Illinois Edith was a lifelong resident having moved to Vineland as a young child. She attended the Vineland Public Schools and worked for many years on her family's farm on Oak Rd. i n Vineland. Later she worked in the local clothing factories during WWII. After the war Edith met amd married Paul Lera, a Navy veteranof WWII> Edith next went to work for Dougherty Bros. glass factory in Buena Vista Township where she worked for over thirty years. After her retirement Edith and Paul spent much of their time traveling and both truly enjoyed collecting antiques and seeking out local flea markets, auctions and yard sales. Edith was an avid collector of many things, but especially greeting cards. She made albums of her favorite ones and spent many hours enjoying them. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.
Edith is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Betty Ann Lera and Richard and Lynne Lera, all of Vineland; grand-daughter and her husband Kim and Eric Mogck; grand-son and wife, Eugene and Brooke Lera; grand-son and wife Jason and Stacey Lera; grandchildren, Nicole, Dennis and Joseph Lera; great-grand-children, Gavin Mogck and Dominic Lera. She is also survived by two sisters, Jennie Nese and Lena Comparri as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceaed by her husband, Paul Lera in 2006 and her parents John and Ida (Castagnoli) Palmieri and five brothers and sisters.
