Obituary of Helen Leeds

Helen Leeds,91, of Vineland passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at South Jersey Regioanl Medical Center. Helen was born in Cliffside Park to the late John and Ellen (Moore) Kelly. She attended catholic grade school and graduated from Cliffside Park High School in 1935 as a member of the National Honor Society and the band. Helen graduated from Jersey City State College with a degree in Elementary Education. In her first teaching position she taught 8 grades in a one room school house in Flemmington, NJ, where she met her husband Edgar( Bud) who taught shop there. She returned to teaching in 1954 at Malaga School in Franklin Township until her retirement in 1980. In retirement Helen worked part time at the Vineland Public Library where she volunteered with the adult literacy program. She was a member of St. Isidores Parish, the Legion of Mary and a Eucaristic Minister. Helen was an avid reader, loved word jumbles and current events.
