Obituary of Rena Battelini

Rena (Monfardini) Battelini, 100, passed away September 30, 2008, three weeks before her 101st birthday. Born October 23, 1907 to Joseph and Cesari (Caselli) Monfardini in Landisville.she was a life long resident. She married Alesio Battelini on May 1, 1927 for 66 years before his death in 1993. Rena grew up working on her parent's farm. Along with her husband, they operated many businesses including a dance hall, a general store, a custard stand and an auto repair/gas station known as Battelini's Garage in Ladisville. She always took the time to help those in need and care for someone that was sick. She remained sharp as a tack until her death. She remembered the last 100 years as if it were yesterday and was always willing to share stories. Rena enjoyed going out to dinner, traveling and parties at her grandchildren's home and socializing with her many friends and family. You could always see her walking and working in her yard.
