Obituary of Anne H. Lane

Anne Lane, 84 of Vineland passed away Friday June 3, 2011 at her residence. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Douglaston, NY. Anne was a graduate of PS, 98, Douglaston Bayside High School, Bayside NY. She received a B.A. Degree from Seton Hill University, Greensburg Pa.; and a M.A. degree from Wm. Paterson University, Wayne NJ. A member of Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Fraternity, and the Sigma Cappa Phi Language Fraternaty, and President of the Seton Club. Anne was employed as a Teacher for the Sacred Heart High School where she taught English. Later employed for the Vineland High School she taught Drama and Speach in 11 - 12. She was Faculty representative for Vineland High School for V.E.A. and C.C.E.A. President Junior Women's Club, and a member of the Women's Club. Anne also taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine at Sacred Heart Church and a member of its Pre Cana Team. Anne was awarded two papal medals, one of them the Bene Merentii Medal, Is conferred on those who exhibited long and exceptional service to the Catholic Church, their families and community, with the title of (Lady) of the Church. She was a member of Little Theater of Vineland, a board member of the friends of the Vineland Public Library, member of the Mayor Gartons committee of thirty, member of the Public Library Book Club. At St. Isidore's Church she was a Eucharistic minister, Lecthor and a member of the writers committee. She was a mentor at the Petway School where she read stories to the fourth and fifth grades. With her husband she traveled throughout the dioceses giving Pre Cana Conferences. Anne is survived by a daughter Carol (Lane) Miller and her husband Claire of Upper Deerfield; son Michael Hunter Lane and his wife Deborah of Canaton, GA. grandchildren; Zachary and Gavrielle Miller, Hunter and Parker Lane; A sister Jeanne Macturk of West Chester PA. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Kenneth Lane, nieces, Karen and Kit Macturk and Nephew Jeffrey Jenkins. Anne was predeceased by her husband in 2006 Harry Russell Lane, and brother-in-law Donald macturk.
