Obituary of Rita Lamcken
Rita Lamcken, 85, passed away on Wendesday, July 5, 2012 at South Jersey HospiceCare in Bridgeton after a lengthy illness. She was born to Rita and Libero Testa in Vineland where she lived until two years ago. Rita married Hugh V. Lamcken after his return from World War II and they settled down in Vineland to raise their family. They were marriedfor nearly 40 years until his death in 1986. Rita graduated from Vineland High School where she was a drummer in the Drum and Bugle Corp. While waiting for her sweetheart to return home from war, she waitressed and clerked at the White Tower and Sun Ray Drugs in Vineland. Rita's ambition was to become a homemaker and she fulfilled that vocation very well. Her family was her pride and joy. As a stay at home Mother she sewd for her children and was very active in the PTAs and classroom aand extra curricular activities. She was especially known for being a master cook and baker. In addition, Rita enjoyed gardening, flower arranging and various crafts. She loved music and especially dancing. Swimming and socializing at the North West Swim Club, bowling with the St. Francis Ladies Bowling League that she was instrumental in staring and playing cards were her favorite activities. She was always the life of the party. A member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish ( now Divine Mercy Parish), Rita attended daily mass and was employed there for many years. She could always be relied upon to donate her time and baked good forchurch functions. and other organizations over the years. Rita is survived by her four children Barbara (John) Butterfield of Roadstown, Elaine (Louis) Magliarese of Milmay, Ken (Annie) Lamcken of Cedarville, and Kathy Grayson (Dave Guglielmo) of Woodbury; four grandchildren, Shanna ( JAson) Grover, Michael V. grayson, jessica Grayson and Nicholas Guglielmo; three great-grandchildren, Noah, Marley and Rian Grover. She is also survived by her siblings; Angelina (Tom) landis of barrington, Anita Raymond, Alfred (Marie) Testa and Donald and Lorraine Lamcken all of Vineland., many special nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her extended family; Danny Thompson, Diane Thompson, Shane Thompson, Dana herbert Vicky Miller, Vicky Lynn (Gene) Bernacchio, Lori Ann (Dennis) Koons nd Tiffany and Joe Lazo and their families. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Hugh , her beloved first grandchild Jennifer lee Smith in 1977 and her brother Albert Testa in 2003.
