Obituary of C. Thomas Kreck

Charles 'Tom' Kreck Former City Engineer - Vineland Charles Thomas Kreck, age 72, passed away after a long struggle with chronic illnesses, Tuesday February 14, 2012. Tom was born September 27, 1939 in Darby, PA to Charles and Teresa Kreck. He had lived in Vineland for the past 45 years with his beloved wife, Nancy; whom recently preceded him in death. Tom graduated from Saint James High School in Chester, PA. in 1957 and received a Bachelor's of Science - Civil Engineering from Villanova University in 1961. He worked as an engineer for the City of Vineland, The Federal Aviation Administration and his own companies until his retirement in 2007. While serving The City of Vineland he held the titles of City Engineer, Head of The Department of Streets and Roads, and a member of Zoning and Planning Boards. Tom, through his Catholic faith, led his family over the decades with purpose, principles, and sacrifice. He was a devoted husband and a loving and supportive father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. Tom greatly valued personal and professional integrity. His honesty, intelligence, gentle personality, subtle humor, and humble spirit will live on in our memories. Death cannot kill the love that our parents had for each other. For more than 50 years of life, their inseparability was a constant; and now it is for all time.
