Gloria Placendo, 100, of Newfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family.

A lifelong resident of Franklin Township, Gloria was the daughter of the late Alfred and Virginia D'Alessandro. She worked side by side with her husband, Pip, on the family farm for over 50 years. She thoroughly enjoyed time spent at the Vineland Produce Auction bringing love and laughter to fellow farmers and produce buyers.

She was known for her contagious smile and true love for life. Gloria was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, always cheering on her favorite players. She loved playing pinochle and trips to the casino. Gloria was a devout member of St Rose of Lima Church in Newfield. Her most cherished moments were those spent cooking for and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son Pip Jr.; daughter, Deborah Burrell (Richard); son Rick (Barbara); sister Diane English; five grandchildren and devoted friend Ellie, also known as "Utley" to Gloria. She was predeceased by her husband Louis "Pip" Placendo, and six siblings.

A church visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 10:15am to 12:15pm followed by a mass of Christian Burial from Saint Rose of Lima Church, 104 Catawba Avenue, Newfield. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
