Obituary of William J. Buscham

William "Billy" J. Buscham passed away peacefully on December 7 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland NJ. William was the son of George and Mary (Mulvaney) Buscham. He was one of four children with older brothers Raymond and Gustave, as well as a sister Patricia. He is survived by his three children Lisa Jamison, Brian Buscham and Tracy Buscham; as well as his grandchild, William Jamison. William is a graduate of Clayton High School class of 1959, where he subsequently participated in his reunion committee for his graduating class. He joined the Air Force Reserves in 1962 serving one tour of duty, after which he apprenticed to be a glassblower. Once a journeyman, he soon found work in the fledgling Chem Glass, where he worked in the tool room for 53 years. William had a love of cars and racing them. Owning a '57 Chevy Bel Air and racing it on the quarter mile at Vineland Speedway brought him into a second job working the starting line at Vineland, and shortly thereafter, Atco Raceway. His love of cars also brought with it an ability to be a fair mechanic. Most knew him as someone "who could fix anything." William's first love might have been cars, but his biggest was his late wife Judy (Cappellucci) Buscham. Starting and raising a family became his greatest joy. Always one with a good word, story, and joke at holiday and family gatherings. Up for any card game, lending a hand in the kitchen, or any other activity, William soon found that he was always a welcome addition to any social event, especially when he would make a pot of his famous spaghetti sauce or chicken tortellini soup. Both were taught to him by his mother-in-law. Spending time with his beloved wife on their yearly vacations to Vermont on their wedding anniversary and hanging out with his grandson at classic railway stations and museums became part and parcel of William's routine. He will be missed by one and all who knew him and came in contact with him. A church visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 8:45am to 10:45am followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 am from Our Lady Of The Blessed Sacrament - Church Of Saint Rose Of Lima, 104 Catawba Avenue, Newfield. Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland. ARRANGEMENTS are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08360 In lieu of flowers the family request that donations in memory of William be made to: Edgarton Christian Academy, PO Box 646, Newfield, NJ 08344.
