Maurice Kaufman, 94, died on February 12, after a long illness. He was born in Manhattan and graduated from City College of New York. He worked as a chemical engineer for several years, then adopted an alternative life style with his first wife (Sylvia Weingast Kaufman who pre-deceased him in 1974) moving to Vineland and building a chicken farm in 1950. Most recently, Maurice has been living in Yonkers, NY, with his wife of over thirty years, Elaine Weinstock Kaufman. He is survived by his wife, brother Lewis (Mae); two daughters, Fredda and Liz (Aaron Reznick); stepsons David (Ann) and Robert (Judy), four grandchildren, Luda, Hannah Jo, Ben and Dan, and many loving nieces and nephews.
