Obituary of Michael A. Valletta
Michael A. Valletta, 97, of Vineland passed away on October 30, 2024 at home. Michael was born in Vineland to the late Frank and Josephine Valletta. He was a graduate of Vineland High School and was drafted into the Army after graduation. Michael was a graduate of Pierce Business School which he attended under the G.I. Bill and a graduate of the Administrative Accountancy Course. He became a State of New Jersey Public Accountant and an Enrolled Agent with the IRS. He was a member of the national Society of Public Accountants and the NJ Association of Public Accountants.
Michael was the office manager of Keen Manufacturing Corp. for 9 years until the business moved to Michigan. He then had a Public Accounting Office and Tax office on High Street in Millville from 1962 until his retirement in December 2016. Michael was an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2531.
He was also a past President of the Millville Rotary Club. For many years, Michael was a beekeeper producing many gallons of honey until he became allergic to the bee stings and honey. He enjoyed following the stock market and also liked to play many card games especially pinochle and enjoyed the casinos. He felt the best part of his life was spending time with his family, relatives and friends.
Michael is survived by his brother-in-law Fred Patane of Sewell; his nieces Maryanne Ouly (Frank) of Bear, Delaware, Geraldine Banks, Ann Derr and Lisa Benedetto (Mark) of Vineland, Patricia Weiserth (Jeff),and Barbara Patane of Sewell; his nephews Louis Tolotti (Joanne) and Robert Tolotti (Lisa) of Vineland and Fred Patane of Sewell; nine great nieces and nephews, Chuck, Nicholas, Mark, Gina, Luke, Laura, Michaela, Zachary and Alyssa as well as his great-great nieces and nephews, Anthony, Vito, Angelo and Francesca. Along with his parents Michael was predeceased by his brother Anthony Valletta; sisters, Mary Valletta, Angelina "Lee" Tolotti and Ann Patane; his sister-in-law Rose Valletta and brother-in-law Louis H. Tolotti
A special thank you from the family to his caregiver, Amiko Gegeshidze and Holy Redeemer.
A church visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 9am to 10:45am followed by a funeral mass at 11am from Divine Mercy Parish, 23 West Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
