Obituary of Marie G Lezan

Marie G. Lezan passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024. Marie was born in 1922 to the late Margaret and Joseph Galetto in Vineland, New Jersey. She grew up on a farm in Vineland with her parents and one sister, Albena (Galetto) Colla. She was a graduate of Vineland High School`s class of 1940. In 1946, she married Antonio N. Cernigliaro, who was a teacher and guidance counselor at Vineland High School. They had two daughters, Bonnie and Susan. Marie and Antonio were married for six years until his death in 1952. Marie worked for New Jersey Bell for thirty years in their offices located in Vineland and Pitman, New Jersey. In 1971, she married William H. Lezan. They were happily married for 32 years. In their years together, they enjoyed traveling and gardening. Marie loved to sew, knit, and cook. Upon retirement, she spent some of her free time doing volunteer work at Bishop McCarthy Nursing Home. She knitted scarves for the NJ Veteran's Memorial Home residents and later hemmed quilts for an organization called Quilts of Valor. Marie is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Luke (Kenneth) and Susan Bilardo (Dominic). She was blessed with four granddaughters, Adrienne DelVacchio, Jennifer Dougan, Kara Modica, and Cathy Piro. Marie is also survived by a stepson, William Lezan (Cheryl) and stepdaughter, Sandra Wideman (Jim) as well as four step grandchildren, Kiersten Eisenweiler, Andrea Moshier, Erica Stevens, and Julia Wideman. Marie was blessed with eight great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends. A funeral home visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 9am to 10:30am at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ. A funeral mass will be held at 11am from Saint Padre Pio Parish - Church Of Our Lady Of Pompeii, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
