Obituary of Norene Ritter

Norene A. Ritter, 74, of Vineland passed away on October 11, 2024 at Inspira Medical Center. She was born in 1950 to the late Warren and Dolores (D'Ippolito) Ritter. Norene graduated from Vineland High School in 1969. She received her Associates degree from Endicott Junior College in 1971 and went on to attend Marietta College where she obtained her Bachelors degree in 1973 and was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She later earned her Masters degree from Rutgers University. Norene spent many years as a grammar school teacher before retiring. She enjoyed traveling the world at every opportunity possible. Norene was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and she also sang in the church choir. She was a member and past president of the Women's Club of Vineland, and The Friends of Vineland Public Library. She took pride in volunteering at South Jersey Healthcare (Inspira) and the American Red Cross. In 2013, Norene was honored with the Hometown Hero Award. She is survived by her brother, Theodore H. Ritter (Jean); nephew, Matthew W. Ritter (Erica); niece, Cassie Ritter Hunt (Greg) and her dear friends, Bernadette and Donald Menzoni. Along with her parents she was predeceased by her grandparents, Theodore & Anna Ritter and Henry & Ella D'Ippolito. Funeral home visitations will be held on Thursday evening, October 17th from 6pm to 8pm and again on Friday morning from 9:15am to 10:15am at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ. A funeral mass will be held at 11am on Friday from Parish Of The Holy Cross- St. Mary's Church, 732 Morton Avenue, Rosenhayn. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.
