Obituary of Lorraine Scapellati

Lorraine Scapellati, 96, of Vineland, passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2024. Lorraine was born in 1928 to the late John and Eva Drobinski, in New Britain, Connecticut. It was there she met and married the love of her life, Felix Scapellati, to whom she was married for 57 years. He predeceased her in 2009. She lived a long, happy and healthy life full of love, kindness and dedication to her family. Lorraine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an outstanding cook and enjoyed hosting weekly family get-together's. She is survived by her family who will forever cherish her memory, her children, Nina Ciancarelli, Debbie Mosley and husband Jeff, John Scapellati (Ann Breslin), Patricia Scapellati and husband Jason Finn; grandchildren, Alyssa Tischler, Emily Tischler, Amanda Ford and husband Ari, Christopher Mosley and wife Shelli, Lana Scapellati and Isaac Finn; great grandchildren; Salvatore Diaz, Brody and Nicholas Ford, Christopher Jr., Lillie and Jaxon Mosley. Additionally she is survived by her brother-in-law, Alfred Scapellati and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lorraine was blessed to have had many special friends throughout her life. Most of whom were like sisters to her. Recently she was fortunate to have caring, compassionate caregivers who became very special to her; her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to these women and the outstanding nurses, CNA's, and support staff at Bayada Hospice at Inspira. For many years Lorraine was a "stay at home" mother who devoted her time and energy to her children. Once her children were grown she found a love in working in "retail." She enjoyed interacting with the public. She was an extremely social person, and was well liked by everyone she met. For most of her life she was a member and active participant in St. Francis of Assisi Parish. For years she was a weekly volunteer for the Cumberland County Office on Aging, Nutritional Program at Tarklin Acres.
