Obituary of Helen Trionfo

Helen (Flickinger) Trionfo, 92, of Piney Hollow, NJ passed away on Thursday, September 19th, 2024 at Inspira Medical Center, Mullica Hill, NJ. Helen was born in Trenton, New Jersey to Edmond & Helen (Riordan) Flickinger. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School/Vineland where she was awarded the Elmer H. Wene Honor for Academic Excellence. She went on to earn a full academic scholarship to Trenton State. She graduated, with honors, and earned the award for Excellence in English and History studies and was also recognized by the Wall Street Journal as a Fellow at Syracuse University. Helen was a member of the NJEA, Kappa Delta Pi National Honor Society and Trenton State/College of NJ Alumni Association. Helen pursued her love of teaching by first becoming a Special Education teacher at Caroline Ritter School in Franklin Township and then moved on to teaching English, History and Journalism at OLMA/Our Lady of Mercy Academy in Newfield, NJ. Her move to OLMA began her lifelong dedication to all things 'OLMA' where she was inducted into the Salerno Society Hall of Fame in 2013. Helen was a member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish. Through the years, she has served as Trustee, Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, Minister of Hospitality, Lector, Archangel, Mary's Baker and taught CCD. She also served on the OLV School Board, Bereavement, Liturgy and RCIA committees. A passionate reader, crossword puzzle expert, lover of old Westerns, all things chocolate, and lemon cookies, Helen also enjoyed being an active member of the Red Hats. Helen is survived by her son Ed (Marianne); her daughter-in-law Debbie Trionfo; her grandchildren Dr. Arianna Trionfo (Gary Lamsback) and Albert Trionfo (Amanda); and her great-grandchildren Alaina, Audrey, Niko, Elise, Francesca and Emma. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Mary Flickinger and Mary Gallo and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Albert; her son Ernie; her grandson Rob; her brother Edmond Flickinger; her sister Sr. Grace Mary Flickinger/SBS and her bestie May Vassallo. The Trionfo family wishes to extend their gratitude to Moms' Bayada Team (Ryan, Kim, Katie), along with the Staff at Inspira Medical Center/Mullica Hill, for their kindness, compassion and empathy in caring for Helen. A church visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 25th from 9:15am to 11:15am followed by a funeral mass at 11:30am from Our Lady Of The Blessed Sacrament - Church Of St. Michael, 504 West Avenue, Minotola. Interment will follow in Our Lady Of Victories Cemetery, Landisville, NJ.
