Obituary of Vera Ann Merighi

Vera (Bertonazzi) Merighi passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Vera was born to Wilfred and Jean Bertonazzi in 1962 in Vineland, New Jersey. Vera spent her childhood working on her family farm alongside her siblings and many cousins. She graduated from Vineland High School in 1980 and went on to earn her Bachelor's degree at Glassboro State College. Vera married Ernie Merighi in 1987 and together they settled down in Landisville, New Jersey where they raised their two children, Anthony and Alison. Vera was a longtime employee of 35 years at Shoprite, where she spent the majority of her career managing the bakery. Vera was a dedicated member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament parish in Landisville, where she belonged and served with the Archangels Ministry. Vera loved vacationing with her family in Ocean City, New Jersey, watching Hallmark movie reruns, and going to the casino with her sister Margie, even though she was strictly a spectator. She is survived by her husband, Ernie; son Anthony (Kelsey); daughter Alison Mullins (Carl); mother, Jean and her siblings, Wilfred, John Bertonazzi (Anita), Margie Frandino (John) and Judy Bertonazzi; her mother-in-law Phyllis Merighi and brothers-in-law Carmen and Dino Merighi; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Vera was predeceased by her father, Wilfred Bertonazzi and her father-in-law, Ernie Merighi. A church visitation will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024 from 9:45am to 11:45am followed by a funeral mass at 12:00 pm from Our Lady Of The Blessed Sacrament - Church Of St. Michael, 504 West Avenue, Minotola.
