Obituary of Brown M Thigpen Jr

On July 29, 2024, Brown M. Thigpen passed away peacefully at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Vineland, New Jersey where he was well cared for by the staff. He was a lifelong resident of South Jersey. Brown was born in Woodbury, New Jersey and graduated from Pitman High School in 1962. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served four years in Montana. He earned an Associate's Degree from Salem Community College. Brown was an avid Chess player. He loved hunting, boating, and was an amateur tinkerer with technology. He enjoyed taking walks in the Pine Barrens. Brown M. Thigpen is survived by his loving wife, Louise, of 33 years; two sisters Joyce of Massachusetts and Leila of Austria; his six daughters Erica, Nicole, Terri, Carol, Heidi, and Gretchen; fourteen grandchildren Lily, Shanna, Jimmy, Carissa, Brittany, Kamau, Rocky, Jamie, David, Caleb, Tabitha, Blake, Ben, Irene; seven great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Gracie. Brown M. Thigpen will be deeply missed by all and forever in our hearts. He was predeceased by his parents Brown Sr. and Peggy; and his sister, Wanda. The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 11am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 110 Highland Avenue, Vineland, NJ 08361.
