Obituary of Patricia Russo

Patricia Ann Schureman Russo, 96, of Vineland passed away peacefully on Sunday July 28, 2024. Patricia was born in Millville to the late Russell and Margaret Schureman. Patricia attended Vineland Schools and her grandmother, a well known educator named Carrie R. Schureman started the safety patrol in Vineland. She was a very strict person and although education was of the utmost importance to her, nothing mattered more than having food on the table. Even if it meant the older kids had to quit school and financially help the family, which consisted of nine children. Patricia had to quit school in the 8th grade to help her family financially. She never complained and would do anything to help her mother. Patricia worked along side her sister and best friend Ann at Kontes Glass until they both retired. Anyone who met her always said she was the sweetest lady. Patricia did not have a bad bone in her body, but if you made her mad, look out. Patricia lived with her daughter Denise and son-in-law Arthur since 2005. She never missed a basketball game or soccer game for her grandson who was her buddy and the apple of her eye. She was always there to cheer him on and attended his games in high school, college, and club. Patricia enjoyed going to the casinos to play the slots with her sister Ann and share her winnings. She also enjoyed watching game shows, old John Wayne movies and listening to Johnny Mathias and Frank Sinatra records. Patricia is survived by her loving daughter Denise Smaniotto (Arthur); grandson Nico Tramontana (Susie); and great grandchildren, who she loved so much, Lulu and Nico Jr. and grandpuppers Madi and Ella. Patricia is also survived by her brother Russell (Chickie) Schureman; sister Loretta Joslin and sister-in-law Tich Schureman. Patricia is blessed with so many nieces and nephews, Donna and Louis Lupi, John and Carol Moschetti, Louis, Tony, Michael, and Paul Favoretto, Debbie Schureman, Phyllis Vendetti, Karen McConnell, Patti Saglia, Ellis Schureman, Kathy Manley, Allan Schureman Jr., Kim Barnabei, Douglas Schureman, Karen Schureman, Maggie Schureman, Sheila Allen, Pam Eigenmann-Osborne, Frank Eigenmann & Wayne Eigenmann. She was blessed with so many great-nieces and great-nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her parents Russell and Margaret Shureman, sister/best friend Ann Moschetti (John), Eleanor Favoretto (Louis), Jane Eigenmann, brother Allan "Butchie" Schureman and sister-in-law Phyllis Schureman. The family would like to thank Patricia's nurses at Genesis, Amber, Kay, and Patty. Along with aides Mara, Edith, and Ashley for their loving care to our mom. They would also like to thank the nurses at Comfort Care and Hospice, Ellen and Alicia and Pastor Jim and Noreen. My beautiful mother is finally at peace and free from suffering the horrible effects of dementia disease. Over time it began to take its toll with her beautiful memories and magnificent life filled with love from her daughter, son-in-law, grandson and his wife along her great grandchildren Lulu and Nico Jr. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Padre Pio-Parish, Comfort Care or Hospice. A church visitation will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024 from 9am to 10:30am followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 am from Saint Padre Pio Parish - Church Of Our Lady Of Pompeii, 4680 Dante Avenue, Vineland. Inurnment will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland.
