Obituary of John Pustizzi

John C. Pustizzi Sr., 76, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after a brief illness. John was born in Vineland in 1947 to the late John and Concetta (Pace) Pustizzi. He was a lifelong resident of Franklinville having grown up in the Forest Grove area. John grew up working on his family's farm and was a forklift operator for the Kimble/Owen-Illinois Glass Company for 26 years. He enjoyed collecting many unique items and was most proud of his collection of cookie jars, a hobby that he began with several cookie jars belonging to his grandmother. He took pleasure in strolling through flea markets, bartering with sellers for any item that caught his eye. He loved to postulate on the existence of Big Foot and UFOs and was a firm believer that anchovies belonged on pizza. He was a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles and spent many hours enjoying listening to Phillies games on an old transistor radio while he smoked a cigar. John loved to be surrounded by family and took great pride in cooking the Feast of the Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve, but his greatest joy came from being called PopPop by his grandchildren. He is survived by wife of 47 years, Lucy H Pustizzi, sons, John Jr and James (Nichole); three grandchildren, Gage, Alianna and Danica; his brother, Dominic (Sherry); sister, Cathy Ausenberg (Robert); several uncles and aunts, including Ida Hayes, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A church visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20th from 10am to 11am followed by a funeral mass at 11am from Our Lady Of The Blessed Sacrament - Church Of Our Lady Of Victories, 202 Northwest Blvd, Landisville. Burial will be private.
