Obituary of Linda Polmonari

Born Linda Sue Oliva to Yolanda (Urbano) Oliva on 8/23/1949 in Atlantic City, NJ. Granddaughter of maternal grandparents, Gennaro Urbano and Angie Marganelli. Raised by her loving and wonderful stepfather, Thomas A. DeRitis (d). Devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Predeceased by her son, Mark Polmonari; stepbrother Alphonso "Al" DeRitis; sister-in-law Mary Lou DeRitis, and nephew Al DeRitis. Survived by her devoted, beloved husband of 40 years, Peter Polmonari. Lovingly remembered by stepson James (Heather) Polmonari; brother Damon Oliva; sister-in-law JoAnn Wescoat-Skey; nephew Matthew (Jocelyn) Oliva; niece Katie Oliva; grandnephew Thomas Oliva Mahoney; sister-in-law Sandy (Edward) Martinelli, Chris (Cindy) Martinelli, Amanda (Sean) Barrett; uncle John DeRitis (Rosalie) (d); cousins John DeRitis (Sandra), Susan DeRitis Hanratty (Norman) (d), Frank Zazza; beloved great aunts Angie Salipante, Olga Marganelli, Anna Fogg (d), maternal aunt Archangel (Kay) Urbano (d). Linda grew up in Galloway NJ in a fun and loving home; she was a Falcon cheerleader and graduated from Oakcrest High School in 1967. Her professional career began as a legal secretary, then for Kraft Foods in Memphis Tennessee, Trump Taj Mahal in AC, NJ, followed by two rewarding decades as the registration and then tourism manager at the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority (currently Visit Atlantic City, the city's destination management organization). She passionately promoted her hometown's convention business throughout the USA and was responsible for bringing and building the Atlantic City convention program. Retired in 2016, her impact is still seen today. Linda's sweet spirit, joy, laughter, friendship, and love will always be remembered by those who knew her. She entered her eternal rest peacefully, at home, beside her beloved husband, family and friends on May 27, 2024.
