Sister Bernadine was my 6th grade teacher for the 1962-1963 year at St. Rose of Lima School in Newfield, and she changed my life. It was under her guidance and through her teaching that I understood how to be a student who studied and learned. I will never forget how she would look at me and smile whenever I surprised her by doing something that demonstrated my new commitment to being a successful student. She made a difference in my life. Also, no matter when or how long it had been since the last time she saw me, she remembered my sisters and me. She always asked about my family. Thank you for being a blessing in my life Sister Bernadine, and, I am sure, in the lives of many other children.
