My Aunt Joanne was like a second mother to me, and I will miss her smile and her kindness most of all. My thoughts and prayers are with my cousins and their extended families as they mourn the loss of a wonderful mom, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an incredible individual that will be greatly missed.

I met Joanne in 8th grade. That was about 78 years ago. Joanne seemed to radiate a special humor, openness, and verve and she made friendships easily. However, the ensuing years would take their toll. Those same qualities were often tested. But they never waivered. And neither did our affections for her. She remained - - and will always remain - - very special to us all.
