John D. Lee, Jr, 73, of Buena passed peacefully, surrounded by his family, on April 20, 2024.

John was a 1969 graduate of Vineland High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served as a Radio Operator aboard the USS Juneau, where he was stationed in Vietnam during the war. John served as a rural mail carrier for the US Postal Service for over 30 years.

John enjoyed fishing, trips to Ocean City, watching Philadelphia sport teams and spending time with family and friends.

John could often be found enjoying a beer with his buddies at Buena Vista Post 270 of The American Legion. As member of the Legion, he served multiple positions including two terms as Commander and most recently the Adjutant.

John was fortunate to find true love twice in his lifetime. His first love was his wife, Robin (Wallace), who departed in March 2013. His second love was his wife, Maria (Herrara), who departed November 2020.

John is predeceased by his father, John D. Lee, and his mother, Martha J. Lee (Smith). He is survived by his sister, Kimberly Heimbach, and brother, Jim Lee (Deirdre Lee), and multiple nieces and nephews. John's memory will forever be treasured by Anthony Herrera and his family in Costa Rica.

A funeral home visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 10am to 11am followed by a funeral service at 11am from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Inurnment will follow at the Atlantic County Veteran's Cemetery, Estell Manor, NJ.
