Obituary of Jeanetta "Jennie" Gaines

Jeanetta "Jennie" Gaines was born to the late Roscoe and Carrie (Jones) Gaines on April 30, 1945 in Philadelphia PA. Jeannie transitioned on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Bishop McCarthy Nursing Center. Jennie was the second child of three children. The family moved to Franklinville, NJ in 1952 where Jeannie attended Franklin Twp. Public Schools, where she graduated from Delsea Regional High. She then went on to further her education at Delaware State College where she received her bachelors degree in Business Administration. She worked in Philadelphia, PA for 20 years and later transferred to Atlantic City, NJ where she was Head of Administration in Housekeeping until she retired in 2017. Jennie loved the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team which she and her dad would compare stats on the team members. This tradition continued after her dad's passing, when Jeannie and her brother would then start sharing about baseball while she continued to cheer for the Dodgers and "Big One" cheered for the Phillies. One of her favorite past times was shopping at the malls or on HSN. She attended Cecil Tabernacle in Williamstown, NJ presided by Pastor Reverend Willie J. Fletcher. Jennie never had children however she loved her nieces and nephews and treated them as if they were her own. Her favorite sayings were "You Got That Right", "We Do The Best We Can", and "You Know What I Mean?" Jeanetta went into Bishop McCarthy Nursing Home when her health started to decline where she remained there until her transition. Jeannie was predeceased by her parents Roscoe and Carrie Gaines and her niece Toni Ann Gaines. She leaves to cherish her memories, her sister Edna Gaines of Williamstown, NJ; brother Melvin R.
